    Hi all,

Looking at the chapters on the lecture notes, it is easy to see that chapters 18 through 22 are matched directly to practicing on questions from Part E of the BPP practice kit.

I don’t find it so easy to match for example chapters 6 through 10 to specific questions in the kit in order to develop what John has taught.

Anyone able to shed light on what question sections in BPP best match the lecture notes from John?

I have just covered for example, the cost of capital section, and as lectures move on now to portfolio theory and CAPM, i’d like to be able to practice that learning on the BPP by targeting the right section.

    Thanks

    Two things:

Firstly, it is best to use the Revision Kit for revision after finishing studying all the topics (and having read all the technical articles on the ACCA website). The reason is that with the exception of foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, most exam questions (and most questions in the Revision Kit) do not just test one topic but test several topics in the same question. You may feel that you will have forgotten a lot by the time you start working through the Revision Kit, but when you do come to something that you have forgotten or are not clear about then look back at the relevant lecture and/or ask in the Ask the Tutor Forum and I will explain.

Secondly, I do hope that you are not intending to use the notes without watching the lectures that work through the notes. The lecture notes are just that and it is in the lectures that I work through the examples and explain and expand on the notes. If you choose not to watch the lectures for any reason then you need to buy a Study Text from one of the ACCA Approved Publishers and study from there.

    Thanks John, appreciate it.
I was getting the vibe from it indeed that the spread of topics was not as easily matched as the hedging sections.
I am on track, watching lectures, referring to your notes and using BPP material all at the same time.
