I’ve done Masters in commerce/accounting in India and looking to registe for CIMA course for better opportunities in U.K. Could you please suggest should I take this from certificate level or should I opt for masters gateway route ? What kind of study method would you suggest for Masters gateway and realistic time required to prepare for the exams ?
I entered through the Masters Gateway Route and had it not been for my previous experience I would have really struggled. There is a huge amount to learn – for the Case Study you need to know E2 inside out and a fair understanding of P2 and F2.
If you have a good understanding of accounting already, then you stand a chance. If you would learn things by doing the Certificate level, then that is your starting point. I already had accounting qualifications above Certificate.
In terms of study material, I used Open Tuition to familiarise myself with the E, P and F two papers, I then purchased a course from another provider for the Case Study.
