Does anybody have any information on the subject of market abuse please? I don’t have any notes on this area of the syllabus :/ Thanks in advance!
Hey 🙂 there are 7 types of behaviour which amount to market abuse
1. insider dealing, using inside information for self benefit
2. Improper disclosure, telling another person about it and they benefit, like i think you should buy shares from XYZ ltd
3. Misuse of Information, this info can affect an investors decision, like selling shares when others dont know price will fall, they would never buy the shares had they known about this information
4. Manipulating transaction, buying large amount to increase demand and push price up
5. Manipulating device, person buys shares and tells other misleading information to increase the share price
6, dissemination, spreading rumours that there will be takeover which lead to people thinking price will increase
7. Distorting/ misleading behaviour, doing things which lead to others thinking that company is growing so price will increase, like ordering huge empty trucks of supplies which will show we got so much demand to meet
Im attempting F4 too, hope it helps, best of luck for the exam!
Thanks Alee 🙂 and good luck to you too!
