The other two calculation for the soya bean question I put down as mix and yield variance and said these should be used instead so as not to double count.
March 9, 2023 at 8:45 pm #680901I just hope its enough to pass as this is the only area where i kinda “messed up”
I got financial & non financial performance 20 mrk question.
I calculated all the changes in % and wrote a paragraph for each of my % changes and i wrote an overall discussion point.
March 9, 2023 at 8:47 pm #680902Also for the security question poojaj didnt add that its different levels of access for different levels of seniority.
Since the director is a senior person i went with B
March 9, 2023 at 8:49 pm #680903Was anyone able to calculate the ABC overheads for question 1 section A??
March 9, 2023 at 9:43 pm #680905The level of confidential information on each department is solely dependent on the priority level of each directors. An IT wouldn’t know who should have access and who shouldn’t!! He could only check the total login & logouts with location trace !! Different passwords at different levels of information will help to prevent confidential information!! The directors are free to choose whichever & whoever they want !!
What was the ABC question that you found difficult?? Let me try & help if u can explain!!
March 9, 2023 at 9:51 pm #680906If i remember correctly there they asked to find the total overhead cost using absorption costing and abc.
However they only had 2 overhead costs which were set up and orders or something nothing else.
How were we supposed to find the overhead cost for labor?March 9, 2023 at 9:58 pm #680907You will pass brother !! Don’t worry ! All u need is a 50 !
March 9, 2023 at 10:05 pm #680908For ABC you need to divide The overheads using different activities & when you get the total cost per activity you divide by the number of units !! If they asked for ABC they asked for a specific cost related to an activity !! I believe they gave you number of setups & number of orders !!
March 9, 2023 at 10:28 pm #680909Yeah thats what i did.
But for labour there was an activity for it.March 9, 2023 at 10:31 pm #680911Im expecting a pass.
Section A and B was mostly easy and i had a minor mess up in variances in s3.
I dont have the mental strength to repeat after getting
44% 3 times in a row
March 9, 2023 at 10:44 pm #680912I remember getting this question. They asked total overhead costs for Product PAR using absorption costing and ABC. I think it was quite straight forward!! Overheads were absorbed on labour hours or machine hours basis which was given in the question if I remember correctly!
March 9, 2023 at 10:50 pm #680913I also got one seasonal variation question for q1 of year 2 based on addictive model.. they gave the total sales for year two and gave the T formula to calculate trend and then calculate seasonal variation. My ans was -180
March 9, 2023 at 11:12 pm #680916Best wishes to all of you !! This is a difficult paper, hoping that everyone have a satisfied pass !! Cheers !!
March 9, 2023 at 11:16 pm #680917Overheads were absorbed on labour hours for absorbtion costing it said.
Do you remember which answer you chose for the abc cost?
March 9, 2023 at 11:17 pm #680919March 10, 2023 at 4:54 am #680923@jonnhy138 I remember correctly that abc question was a drag and drop question right?
March 10, 2023 at 5:02 am #680926So for absorption costing we had to use total overheads which they gave in question and then divide it with labour hours(per unit hours*activity) and for abc they gave us two cost pools and two cost drivers so there were two cost per drivers.
Then we had to multiply that with absoprtion costing rate with total labour hours of the product which they asked to calculate overheads for.
Similarly for abc we had to multiply cost per driver with drivers of the specific product.March 10, 2023 at 6:29 am #680928Hi guys, could anyone tell for the section C CVP question, the yoga classes one. Were the staff salaries and administration cost that were given per week for the weeks that resort was open, that is 40 weeks, were to be taken as fixed costs or variable costs?
March 10, 2023 at 7:32 am #680936For Section A, did anyone get a question where you have to click on a point on the graph which shows the optimum i think?
I click on the intersection pointMarch 10, 2023 at 7:33 am #680937The staff salaries were fixed costs I believe for the 40 week period?
March 10, 2023 at 7:37 am #680938Yes , I treated it as fixed costs but I am not sure if its right or wrong.
March 10, 2023 at 7:39 am #680939The theory questions in section C which asked the benefits of scorecard and limitations of cvp, they were asking generally right? We dont have to relate to the cases right?
March 10, 2023 at 8:05 am #680942@ashishjain0069
I think so if they are asking generally then its upon you that whether you want to relate to the case or not. I related the balanced scorecard one with the case but didnt relate limitations of cvp with the case and that too because it was written in the case of cvp that following scenario relates to part b onlyMarch 10, 2023 at 8:06 am #680943@ashishjain0069
What section B questions did you get and do you remember how many marks was fixed costs part of cvp question?March 10, 2023 at 12:42 pm #680976Fixed costs and variable costs part was 5 marks i guess.
