Ahh wish it was a consolidated SOFP instead of P&L, mind went blank on that 20 marker. Found the multiple choice hard as well, can’t even guess how much I got. Did people say W Co was better or B Co was better for the ratio question?
March 10, 2022 at 6:28 pm #650904section c was good i got the SOP&L and the ratio for the takeover question, section a and b was abit tricky tbh ,does anyone remember any answers for the mcqs?
March 10, 2022 at 7:01 pm #650906Section A and B were quite tricky. I got a bit lost on the questions regarding deferred tax in section B. Calculations of goodwill, profit attributable to NCI, bonus issue of shares, calculation of weighted average number of shares, those were quite straightforward (I can’t remember the results I go, though), but I got lost on the text questions, especially with multiple choices.
Section C I got adjustments to P/L, quite easy, preparation of financial statement for single entity, and calculation of EPS. For sure I failed on the calculation of the convertible loan note. The 2nd question with the interpretation…I expected a bit more information. Only 3 ratios, revised profit without subsidary, interpretation and there was something else…. I got a lower profit without subsidary, therefore the result was that the parent is not performing well, not the group of the acquired entity. I hope I did not mess it up.
I don’t know about the score, I oscilate 50-50 between pass or fail.
Does anyone remember particular details & responses of questions?
Good luck to everyone!March 10, 2022 at 7:05 pm #650907Also, the computer screen extremely small, and the display view in section C questions, especially, it was A BIG JOKE! My response area occupied almost 10% of the entire screen. I did not have the horizontal line, to hide the request. It was a joke to consolidate in spreadsheet in such a tiny space, you had to scroll like crazy, and completely hide the scenario in order to see something a bit decent from the response.
March 10, 2022 at 7:20 pm #650912Section A and B were difficult. A lot of the answers in section A required 2 part answers which made it hard. Section B I got leases (outboard motors), impairments and can’t remember the other one but all were difficult. Sec C I got combinations of a P/L and a ratio question for a winter sports company. I hope Sec C saved me but exam wasn’t way more difficult than any of the practice exams on ACCA on the practice platform
March 10, 2022 at 7:36 pm #650914same exam as you fintan. Im hoping section C saved me too. A and B i winged it.
March 10, 2022 at 8:35 pm #650930Is anybody got Section C being the first question a consolidated group P&L. Does anybody remember how many questions and the marks on each question? I am overthinking it now thinking that I missed a question on that. I think it was only a and b. Is that right? Can anybody confirm? I am feeling sick to my stomach! Section A and B was a disaster I am pretty sure I failed 🙁
March 10, 2022 at 8:47 pm #650933Like others I found A and B tricky. Questions set up differently to previous past papers which was off-putting when time constraints . Section c was much more familiar and I liked the pre format as saved me much needed time at the end.
March 10, 2022 at 8:54 pm #650934Mihaela I also got the net profit ratio without acquisition to be just slightly lower. I was questioning whether it was correct .
March 10, 2022 at 8:55 pm #650935I think it was 3 parts. 6 marks for the ratio calculations, 11 marks for discussing liquidity & profitability using the ratios, and 3 marks for 2 reasons it might be difficult to compare the ratios to industry averages.
March 10, 2022 at 9:38 pm #650944I got the consolidated profit and loss 16 marks wowza hope there is follow through marks on that! Does anyone know if there is follow through marks on those questions! with a question after it about how you would treat the brand of the subsidiary. I put recognize as intangible asset in parent sofp but not in entity sofp. My other section c was the ratios liquidity and comparison to market average. Section C was actually better for me than expected compared to some of the mocks I have done. Section A yeah lots of 2 part answers – recognizing if it was a sub or not and loads of consolidated type questions!
Also had the Motor leases, inpairment and a little on foreign currency If I remember rightly. Can’t read at all how it went feel like it’s a complete toss up as to whether I failed or not!
Specific questions I remember for anyone who remembers ?
First question I know was what price you would recognize consolidated shares at i put 1360 don’t ask how I remember that! There was some asking about which company would have higher ratios depending on fifo or weighted average and cost model vs revaluation, and also in section b I remember it asking how you would treat possibly the preference shares? Took a wild stab at fvoci. And I also remember it asking what value would be recognized possibly for the jet skis or something? I put 1350 million and it was a toss up between that or zero.
Good luck everyone, only 6 weeks ?
March 10, 2022 at 11:04 pm #650950For section C questions I got a 16 mark consolidated profit and loss and other comprehensive income statement plus a 4 mark question on how would an associate be recorded in SOFP. For the analysis and interpretation question part a was calculating 6 ratios for 2 potential subsidiaries worth 7 marks plus the bigger part asking to comment the performance and position of the companies and which investment would be the better one.
I answered both questions in section C although could’ve added more comments on the analysis part.
Section A and B questions were very difficult, the type of questions were very different to the past and practice exam papers. There were quite a few questions with two correct answers. There were some consolidation questions but I didn’t understand which standards were covered in section B. I think I guessed half of the MCQs.
I just wish the section A and B questions were similar to the past exam papers.
I think I have done enough to get a pass but it’s hard to sayMarch 11, 2022 at 7:58 am #650972I think this one is going to my first fail in 9 attempts. I was praying for consolidated SOFP and SOPL came up instead. Hopefully I blagged a few marks on that, and scraped 50 altogether.
My second question was ratios which was actually decent enough. Still not confident at all, really tough exam for me 🙁
March 11, 2022 at 9:18 am #650988yea for consolidated shares i got 1360 too i was gonna put 160 🙂 till i read the question properly
March 11, 2022 at 9:28 am #650989what did yous do to the environmental damage adjustment in consolidated SPL? that one caught me out.
March 11, 2022 at 11:13 am #651007Section A was the very ticky, key questions I struggled on were foreign currency and value of inventory, probably overthinking them! Section B I had Impairments, Financial instruments and leases, Section C part 1 Consol of SOPL with Darth and Luke, and part 2 was winter sports goods business taken over by key supplier
March 11, 2022 at 12:27 pm #651013I put the present value of environmental damages in operating expenses (think I was wrong to do that!) and I unwound the discount and put it in finance costs
March 11, 2022 at 2:34 pm #651026There was only two parts in question 32. Part a) was 16 marks for the consolidated SOPL, part b) was 4 marks and something to do with how a brand is represented in a single statement and then also consolidated statements.
March 12, 2022 at 12:18 pm #651151I thought I was not prepared well after the exam, but looking at the comments, certainly Section A and B were actually difficult to complete within time.
March 12, 2022 at 12:23 pm #651152I wrote from Istanbul Turkey. It Sounds like my exam paper was different from what others wrote.
I cant remember any question for company to do with sports.March 12, 2022 at 4:57 pm #651174AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Section A was really tricky for me, different style of the questions a lot of consolidation couldn’t figure out first question and revenue questions in section A which were different to the one I had practise , in section C I had Darth & Luke consolidated P&L and Ratio Winter company.
Does anyone remember question 1 from this exam ?March 13, 2022 at 5:21 am #651194Is it just me or the limitation in using excel functions kills a lot of time. The use of blank sheet is not as straight forward as we are used to in practical day day to task. Taking to cursor back to add up certain things in your answer leads to the previous answer being replaced. That is too irritating especially when the Section A and B questions itself being so time consuming .

What was the effective interest rate of convertible loans in Section C? Was it 7 or 8%, I cannot remember?
Anyway, I don’t whether it is a mistake, but instead of using the 3 year discount factor, which I wasn’t familiar with, to be honest, I myself drew up discount rate table year by year for 3 years. However, mind you, the final figures did strike a balance in SFP. Assuming that I made a mistake by adopting this way, how will it affect the marking? Adjusted retrained earnings contains one element “finance cost”, which, as a result, will be affected, plus, in SFP, year end loan liability, equity component will be wrong. . So does that mean I am gonna lose all the marks allocated to them just because I approached a little bit differently although concepts and calculation were just right?March 15, 2022 at 10:20 am #651314Found section A and B difficult, very hard to determine how you do in this section. Section C for me was 4 parts to Ratio question 3 ratios, take sub out, discuss and then a 3 marker on consolidation v single entity I think. Other part C was Adj profit for 5 marks, SOFP for 11 marks and an EPS with rights issues for 4 marks. Overall I though this was a tough paper. Not confident
