    Hello sir,

I have appeared for AFM in June and September 2019 and didn’t clear twice. I gave SBR in December and passed through.

As I have little time over a month, could you suggest whether it is good to attempt AFM in March ?

    Appreciate any tips to pass.

    A few things:

First, if you haven’t already watched our free lectures, then do so – they should not take you long given that you have already studied the topics, but they will help remind you.

Secondly, I assume you have a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers (BPP and Kaplan) it is vital that you attempt every question before looking at the answer so that you can learn from your mistakes.

Thirdly, if you are unclear about anything (either in our lectures or when looking at answers in your Revision Kit) then ask in this forum and I will try and help.

Fourthly, in the exam itself do not expect to finish – it is almost impossible to finish the whole exam. However you must allocate your time between questions and parts of questions (at 1.8 minutes per mark) – it is far better to have attempted every part of every question (and attempt does not mean finishing), rather than not to have attempted some parts at all.

Are you making sure you are getting the professional marks in question 1?

Are you making sure your workings are clear and easy for the marker to follow (because in the calculations it is the workings that get the marks – not the final answer)?

Are you stating your assumptions? There is rarely one correct answer (especially for question 1) – it depends on your assumptions and you must state them.
