    Hello,

I am currently studying LW-Eng and I would like to ask you a question regarding the time that a company has to keep its accounting records for. I have just read that it is 3 years for a private company and 6 years for a public one. However I always thought that the period is 6 years for all companies. I also looked it up on the gov.uk website and it says 6 years. I am using a 2023 textbook and I was thinking that maybe they changed this rule recently. Can you please let me know what are these periods. Thank you in advance for your help.

You say ‘I have just read that it is 3 years for a private company and 6 years for a public one’

Can you let me know ‘where’ you have just read this?
