Hi all, I am new to this forum and will be studying for my first ACCA exams to June of this year.
I was looking for some advice from those who have already started on what they consider the most effective study aid. I am not thinking about a tuition provider or which material, but is it
Read Text and make notes
Practice past papers
Having detailed feedback on submitted answers
Having debriefs of previously unseen questionsor is there anything else you think would improve this process?
My plan is to do 2 papers per sitting, but only sit in June and December. I am exempt for all F papers up except F9. So I am looking at F9 and P2 this June.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. By the way, there’s no need to cross post the topic to multiple subforums – this is more of a general question so I’ve deleted your topic in the F9 forum and left this one here.
My approach is:
– Read study text and make my own brief notes – maximum 1 or 2 sides per chapter. Don’t spend too long doing this as you won’t absorb all the information you need without putting it into practice.
– For P papers which are primarily written such as P1 and P3, it is helpful to just read the exam kit and the answers without trying to answer them yourself. This gets you used to the type of questions which can be asked and the language used. A more detailed explanation of this can be found here: https://opentuition.com/topic/final-revision-7/
– Start practicing questions. For F papers I start with section A & B (multiple choice) first before starting to add section C questions later. Mark as you go and review why you get things wrong. Revisit areas of the syllabus you are struggling with.
– If you have a course with marked mocks and feedback available, these are of course useful.
– As the exam approaches, do mock exams on previously unseen to get used to the time pressure, mark these yourself. That’s pretty much it!
