On the practice question for Chapter 13 Qn 3
Can I ask where the 12,000 came from in the workings of the answer?Sorry I lost the snipping tool to attach it to this question.

I am a bit puzzled, because the workings that appear when you submit your answer do not have 12,000 anywhere 🙂
14,000 unites were completed and 3,000 were WIP at the end of the period – a total of 17,000. Of these, 2,000 units were already WIP at the start of the period, leaving an input during this period of 15,000 units.

For question 4, 14,000 units were completed during the period but 2,000 were already in WIP at the start of the period (and are therefore part of the 14,000 that were completed).
Therefore only 12,000 were both started and finished during the period.Have you watched my free lectures? Because I do explain why it is necessary to do this when using the FIFO method.
