i see this lost exports in many investment appraisal questions and i really dont know how to go about it. can u please help me.It is impossible to give a specific answer because it depends on the precise wording of the particular question.
In general, if making an investment is going to result in lost sales (whether exports or not) then there is the lost contribution that would have been earned, which is therefore effectively a cash outflow (and opportunity cost).
However, again, it really depends on the precise detail given in the question.
