If a parent gives loan notes in consideration of acquiring a subsidiary, would the amount of loan notes change in the CSOFP?

No ( and yes ), the notes are issued to the former shareholders of the newly acquired subsidiary ie to “outsiders” so there is NO concept of cancellation. The only possible change would be the unrolling of the discounted calculation which would then be charged as a finance cost in the Statement of Income and credited to the Obligation / Liability
