is it true that list price is calculated by subtracting trade discount or bulk discount from actual price?

Not usually.

The list price is usually the price nefore discounts. Some firms will list something like

1 item $10
10 items $80

so that the bulk discount is shown on the list prices.

Trade discounts are often different for different customers (and confidential).
