Good day sir, Is an official receiver also an insolvency practitioner or just an officer of the court
There’s a question that I’ve never been asked before!
I believe that the relevant piece of legislation is the Insolvency Act of 1986 within which we have
‘1.3 Licensed Insolvency Practitioners
The Insolvency Act 1986 introduced the concept of licensed insolvency practitioners. The official receiver does not have to be licensed to act as an insolvency practitioner [section 388(5)].;
That, I have to say, goes against my intuition!
