sir gift by uncle/Aunt at the time of marriage to their niece/nephew(under Marriage exemption) would be considered as gift from remoter ancestor(and qualify for 2500pounds exemption) or be considered under ‘anyone else’ and subject to an exemption of 1000pounds.

Remoter ancestors are in a direct line – grandparents or great grandparents – not cousins, nieces, nephews who will be just 1000
