Dear John,
Please be kind enough to explain what does it meant by ‘ design costs out of products’ which is listed under maximizing the return over the product life cycle.

It means change the design of the product in order to reduce the costs.
(Are you watching the lectures in order, because I do mention this in the lecture on target costing, and give examples.)
