Hello , I would like to ask the letter of deficiency that included in the working paper file is it the management send to the auditor to inform any deficiency found by them?Thank you.
If you look at the overview of the audit on the first pages of chapters 7 & 8 in the notes you will see that they are reported to those charged with governance and management – i.e. weakness found by the auditor during the conduct of an audit.
In the syllabus, this letter is called a report to management:
b) Explain, in a format suitable for inclusion in a REPORT TO MANAGEMENT significant deficiencies within an internal control system and provide recommendations for overcoming these deficiencies to management.
In practice it may also be called “management letter” or “weakness letter”.
