Please note that the first lectures for June 2019 exams
are now availablehttps://opentuition.com/acca/tx/acca-taxation-tx-uk-lectures/
February 14, 2019 at 5:53 am #505052Sir I am still watching your lectures for the march 2019 exam. It wont have any impact on the current lectures for march exam right?
February 14, 2019 at 6:27 am #505053Sir why don’t you upload the June 2019 lectures after the March exam. If you upload the new lectures now then i will have to buy a new study material just to study the remaining chapters such as corporation tax and VAT. Its gonna badly impact. Please consider uploading it after march exam.
February 15, 2019 at 11:17 pm #505252Hi rishabbohra98, it wont effect your study for the March exam, as they will leave those lectures on the website too, and upload the new ones for the June 2019.
People are starting to study for June 2019, therefore they need the updated new lectures.February 16, 2019 at 4:44 am #505264Oh peaceful.Got it, thank you anitakalman. 🙂
February 28, 2019 at 6:18 pm #506881Dear Tutor
i was wondering when new lectures for Chapter 6 & onward will be uploaded for FA 2018?
is it ok to watch lectures from last year?
regards
EwaMarch 3, 2019 at 9:32 pm #507318Thank you very much for the lectures uploaded so far for June 2019 exams. The style of the lectures is clear and well organised. I do have the same query as Ewa above – was wondering when the rest of the lectures would be available?
March 3, 2019 at 9:36 pm #507319I have ordered the Kaplan exam kit for paper F6 – Financial Act 2018 for June 2019 exams onwards. I was wondering if this is the correct study support for this exam – i.e. are these lectures and the study kit the only materials needed to pass?
March 6, 2019 at 5:12 am #507916Apologies firstly to all for not identifying the questions asked here until now.
Re the materials required – the OT notes and lectures plus a revision / exam kit from an approved ACCA provider such as Kaplan are indeed sufficient when properly used to pass the exam.
If you want to be able to answer anything and everything you may see in a Kaplan revision kit or a possible Section A objective testing question in the exam then you would also need a Kaplan study manual.
If you decide to purchase a study manual however then only use this as a reference book and focus your studies on the OT material!!
March 6, 2019 at 2:50 pm #508045Dear Tutor
thank you so much for all the lectures posted recently.
i just noticed some of the chapters are missing such as 11-15 & 18-22
i can see the lectures for exams to Mar 19 has been merged with FA2018 so that we cannot refer to the “old” files.
i’m now studying CH.10 and wonder if there will be anything updated any time soon for the ones that are missing?i think you guys do a great job, briliant lectures & notes that we can learn from!
really appreciate your efforts and can’t wait for the rest!
Regards
EwaMarch 7, 2019 at 11:21 am #508266Hi. Will it be timely now to buy a BPP revision kit for Sept 2019 exam?
March 11, 2019 at 4:18 am #508980Hi Ewa thank you for your note and yes more updated FA 2018 lectures will appear during next week – the week commencing 18 March. The lectures relevant for March 2019 exam have been removed with those still applicable for the June 2019 exams maintained.
The missing chapters will be mostly newly recorded but where old lectures are still valid, with explanations, they will continue to be used.
I hope you will have sufficient to keep you gainfully occupied until next week!
When taxes have been studied it will be advisable to use your ACCA approved revision kit and work some additional practice examples to reinforce your study work done and of course where indicated at the end of chapters to work through the referenced ACCA technical articles.
The chapters on VAT and IHT are very long and self contained allowing you to access your revision kit in some detail after you have worked through the OT material and lectures.March 11, 2019 at 4:26 am #508981Hi Cindy – yes the FA 2018 revision kit is relevant for the exams from June 2019 through to March 2020 and may be purchased now.
As noted above in response to Ewa the revision kit may and should be used in conjunction with the OT notes and lectures.
After you have studied each tax then use some of the kit questions to ensure that you have understood the notes and lectures and are able to apply that knowledge to answer those questions.March 11, 2019 at 7:42 pm #509087Dear Sir,
Thank you for your great effort uploading those wonderful notes and lectures for students!
I was wondering if you can point out the main differences between FA2017 and FA2018 for the TX-UK exam preparation. I attended the March 2019 exam but did not do very well. I think I might have to retake the exam. As I am not sure what have been changed between the FA2017 and FA2018, I don’t know how I can better utilized the OT FA2018 notes and lectures. Is it necessary to start from ground zero and re-study everything again?
Also, I used Kaplan exam kit for the March 2019 exam and wrote a lot of notes on the exam kit itself. If I have to purchase the new exam kit for the June 2019 sitting, It will take lot of time to do revision on the new exam kit. Can I reuse the old exam kit I used for the March 2019 exam but keep in mind for the changes (for example, personal allowance in FA2018 has become GBP 11,850.). Do you think this would work?
Your advice and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Best regards,

Where is the video lectures for Chapter 7 – Tax adjusted losses – individuals, please.
thanks
March 13, 2019 at 10:05 am #509232Hi Mei
The best way to see the things that have changed under FA 2018 is to work through the ACCA technical article Finance Act 2018 published on the ACCA website.
If you do need to resit the exam in June (let’s hope not) then you will need to purchase and work through a new FA 2018 revision / exam kit.
The fact that you are concerned about your performance in the recent March exam would suggest that you still have gaps in your knowledge where you will need to use the study materials again to improve that knowledge.
Only use the revision kit after you have fully studied the OT material for each tax.March 13, 2019 at 10:10 am #509233Hi Irena
Please see my answer above to the question from Ewa dated 11 March indicating when the remaining lectures will start to come online.March 13, 2019 at 12:16 pm #509248@Taxtutor said:

Thanks you so much for pointing out that I can use the ACCA technical article Financial Act 2018 to have a better understanding of what have been changed between the FA17 and FA18. I checked the current syllabus of TX-UK previously, but could not really see what have been changed from the short description of the “Summary of changes to Taxation” in the syllabus. Now I know that I had looked at the wrong place.:)
You are very right, Sir, that order a new set of study kit is the right thing to do if it turns out that I do need to take the re-sit. I am already starting watching the lecture videos to review the subjects. Thank you for your valuable advise, Sir! Wish you a lovely day!
Best regards,
