    Hiya, please could you let me know if one has to learn the entire case study. from the names (Sayer v Harlow)?, date (1951)?, Act?. I would assume one must learn the content of the case.

    u just have to keep in mind the idea of case study u dont need to memorize it an should just learn name so that u would b able to quote it in the exam as a reference.

    the important element of any case is the principle of law which it establishes.

    Ideally, you would know the names of the two parties ( or at least one of the names – eg “In the Harlow case …” ) and the principle

    but you certainly DO NOT need the dates of the cases nor, incidentally, the section numbers of any statute which you wish to quote

    you’re absolutely right – the dates of the cases are absolutely, totally, utterly, completely, unbelievably irrelevant
