Hello ! I need help on this question.
First unit took 12.5 hours. Total time for first 8 units is 34.3 hours T which point learning rate ended. Calculate the learning rate.
The average time per unit if they make 8 units = 34.3/8 = 4.2875
Then, using the doubling rule, the learning rate = 4th root (4.2875/12.5) = 0.765 (or 76.5%)
I do suggest that you watch our free lecture on learning curves, because this is explained in detail.
Our free lectures are a complete course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
I have been using the free lectures and notes and to be honest I don’t know what I would have done without them. So, Thank you very much 🙂 !
I just don’t understand the 4th root part. I’ll look at the lectures again.
I am really sorry – I wrote too fast before. It is actually the 3rd root because 1 doubles to 2; 2 doubles to 4; 4 doubles to 8. (So doubling three times)
So the correct answer is 3rd root (4.2875/12.5) = 0.7 (or 70%)
I do apologise 🙁
It’s no problem at all. I get it now. Thanks alot!
You are welcome 🙂
