I cannot work out the log on my calculator for a learning rate of 80%.
I have a Casio fx 83ES, I can get as far as the following:

    log 0.80 = -0.096910
    log 2 = 0.30103

    When I then enter -0.096910/0.30103 I get a fraction answer of 9691
    ________
    30103

I have no probem working out 90% LF or 85%
    e.g 90% = -0.045757/0.30103 = -.15200

I would appreciate if you can help with me this please.

    Thanks.
    Sharon

Sorry, but I do not have the same calculator as you. Presumably you can change it to display answers as decimals instead of as a fraction, but you need to check the calculator manual for this. If you do not have the manual then search on Google for the calculator model and you will probably be able to find it.

But appreciate, as I say in my free lectures, that it is very unlikely that you would be asked to calculate b. In every exam question it has been given in the question.
