Hi sir,
I am doing kaplan f5 exam kit i am doing a question of quantitative analysis in budgeting qn no 114.
The qn is:
The time for the first unit produced was 100 hrs. The time for the second unit was 90 hrs.
What is the learning rate?
The way i did it was
Units. cum avg time. total time
1. 100 hrs. 100 hrs
2. r*100=90. (90*2)180
R=learning rate
The final answer given in the exam kit was 95%
I dont know where i went wrong. Please Kindly guide me.
If the first takes 100 hours and the second takes 90 hours, then the total time for two is 190 hours. Therefore the average time per unit is 190/2 = 95 hours.
Therefore the learning rate is 95/100 = 95%.
I do suggest that you watch my free lecture on this, because I work through (and explain) a very similar example.
The lectures are a complete free course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
Thank you so much sir.
You are welcome 🙂
