    Hi There,

So i have been struggling with how to use the calculator when completing the learning curve calculation. I am fine working out b = (log learning rate/ log2) which seems to be working fine.
Now on my scientific calculator, i don’t seem to have buttons (xy) or (+/-),
is there any other buttons i can use, or do i need to go out and purchase one with these specific buttons?

    Example: 2000 x 49-0.1520031

    technique lecture states: 49 (xy) 0.1520031 (+/-) =

    Any help would be fantastic!
    Thanks so much

    Hi,

Well, I use the calculator CASIO fx-82ES PLUS…i have been using this type since i started using a calculator!

So going to your example 2000 x 49^-0.1520031

In my calculator there is a button X in the power of ( X with a small box)
And in some other calculators its this sign ^
This sign is just on the left of the log button

I simply use that button for such calculations and for the Minus sign i just use the subtract/minus button ( – )

    I hope this helps.
