If a person takes 25min to produce first unit, 20mins to make second unit and third time he took 17.55mins to make third unit. What would be learning rate?

    The average time for the first 2 units is (25 + 20) / 2 = 22.5

    So the learning rate is 22.5 / 25 = 0.9 (or 90%)
(You cannot be expected to deal with a third unit because it does not involve doubling)

I suggest that you watch the free lecture on learning curves where I explain this very point.

John I think that the answer should have been 80% learning rate. Because:

    Cum. Unit. Cum. Average time
    1 25
    2 25*r=20

    Therefore r=20/25=0.8

    Thanks.

No Favour – you are wrong.

The average time for 2 units is not 20 (that is the time for the second). The average time is we make 2 units is 22.5 as per my previous reply (which is correct).
