hi there could anyone that have passed F1-F3 tell me if it is absolutely neccesary to have the latest edition of textbooks for F1-F3 in order to pass the online exam.
My understanding is that a syllabus cant change that much if im using bpp 2010 books for writing the 2012 exam.
I would appreciate any comments from people who have passed the exams on slightly dated textbooks.
November 23, 2011 at 9:40 am #90096generally you are right.
You can always pass exams by using old books, though you will loose marks by using outdated rules and missing information. However in 2011 syllabus of many ACCA exams was changed alot.
and as for knowledge level F1-F3 not only the syllabus became broader but also the format of exam questions. They became more lengthy now.
many new topics are added to syllabus.
You can see it yourself..at the end of sylabus (which u can easily donwload from accaglobal) there is list of additions/deletations.
or added topics are mentioned inside syllabus itself.Maybe you still can pass using old books if u get really good concepts and skills, but you will loose marks due to that change in exam which is somehow a shame.
I would not risk that much in your place , specially because there are so many free resources available.
It’s up to you.
I believe F1 is still okay, but as for F2 and F3 ..you should at least check the topics that are missing in your books.
And work out CBE demo and pilot paper. - AuthorPosts
