Hi john sir
Q.1 John sir i read in your course notes a question related to bonus scheme in which you took the basic pay of 45 hours rather than 40 hours which is the normal working hours. why you took 45 hours basic pay please guide me. The question is:
Basic pay = $9/hour for a 40 hour week.
Normal production in that time = 120 units
Bonus = 50% of the time saved on production paid at time and a third
What will be the total wage in a week in which 150 units are made in 40 hour
Q.2 John sir, when there is also given time allowed and actual time taken to produce units under a bonus scheme, then what should we take for calculation of basic pay only? i mean to say, should we take ,actually time taken or time allowed? ( if answer is time taken then only please explain a litle bit)
For Q1, please can you tell me which page of my course notes you are referring to?
For Q2, basic pay is calculated on the actual hours taken. If you are being paid (for example) $5 per hour, then your total pay will be $5 for every hour you work (plus any bonus that is given – there are no special rules for a bonus, it is up to the company to decide the rules. In the exam you would be given the rules for the bonus and you follow the instructions.
