    i am acca professional level student and trying to pass p3 from last 3 attempts and each time i failed, although, i was confident in paper that atleast i’w get 50 marks but i failed at 28,41,46 marks in attempt 1,2 & 3 now i am to attempt again in dec 2011, i nned help from u guys any suggestions techniques and any relevent information would be appriciated.

    I also want to know the technique to solve the questions and other things that need to be considered in attempting the questions

    Hi,

    Sorry to hear about your P3 difficulties, but your marks are showing good progression. Assuming you have studied the new areas of the syllabus that were added in June 2011 (lots of F5 material and more on projects) your difficulty must be with exam technique and the way you answer questions rather than lack of knowledge. My advice is:

    1 If you can, attend at least one question based revision day. I don’t know where you live and realise that might not be possible. However, if it is you would do questions that are marked and returned with feedback on the day.

    2 On the OT P3 site, look at the P3 Revision Questions where we work through several case studies.

    3 Make sure you look at the last 6 exams and the examiner’s answers. In particular see how the answers make use to the information in the question. Very few answers are simply theoretical; nearly all are application of theory to the scenarios.
