Writing this with respect to Kaplan Study text page 13 where in Example 2 PAA (Personal Age Allowance) is computed as 9670 with working shown on page 14.
As per my understanding, maximum abatement of allowance shall be till maximum of £10000 and not below that. Can anyone please look into this and confirm? I think it is an error in the book.
For PAA where the tax payers ANI exceeds £27000, the PAA is reduced by : 50% * (ANI – 27000)

Yes, correct but it also should’nt go below 10,000 until and unless income is above 100000.
