    Hello

So I was just reviewing the changes in percentages from last session and noticed the new kaplan study text still shows the dividend additional rate as 37.5%, where as HMRC’s website as a listed rate of 42.5%. Can anyone (preferably who is taking regular classes) guide me what the correct additional rate is?

Here is where I got the official information from: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rates-and-allowances-income-tax/rates-and-allowances-income-tax

If you scroll down below, under the subheading ‘savings’, you will find this sentence:
“The rates available for dividends are the 10% ordinary rate, the 32.5% dividend upper rate and the dividend additional rate of 42.5% (the dividend additional rate is 37.5% from 2013 to 2014).”

37.5% it is! Thanks. Wonder why it says otherwise on HRMC’s website.

Please, refer to only FA14 provided on ACCA site if you don’t want to buy new text book. It’ll only create confusion if you get into the details like dividends rate before 2013 etc etc. They’re not needed.

actually I do have the new text book and that’s what created the confusion, as the rates in the book were (as you stated) as on the ACCA website, however that differed from the rates listed in the link I mentioned in my opening message. Thanks for the clarification though.
