Could you please tell me what these costs mean?
prevention costs
appraisal costs
inspection costs
Prevention costs are costs involved in trying to prevent poor quality production (for example, training the workers to work better!)
Appraisal costs are the costs of checking the level of quality (for example, checking on workers to see whether or not they are doing their work properly).
Inspection costs are really a type of appraisal cost – inspecting the goods to make sure that they are of good enough quality to be able to send them to the customer.
