Hello Sir,
(1) I was listening to the March webinar (Pakistan) and the presenter stated that KAM is included in listed companies and Emphasis of matter (EOM) is for non-listed.. is this accurate?
(2) Does it also mean that EOM should NOT be included for listed companies as they have the KAM section..? Ie, EOM is reserved Only for non-listed?
Both statements are incorrect.
KAMs and EOMs are completely different and serve different functions. A KAMs section is required only for listed companies (see page 107 of our notes).
See also s.3.6 on page 105 – KAMs and EOMs are not mutually exclusive – so the auditor’s report for a listed company may have both.
Thank you so much.. The presenterwas kind of misleading then.. I will now increase the level of professional scepticism for the rest of his videos.. Haha 😀
You’re welcome!
