June 9, 2021 at 9:14 pm #624291Please can you explain how to calculate c/s ration for food and drink when you also have 2 types of menu? What are the basis for us? Menu or type of meal?
June 9, 2021 at 9:14 pm #624292This question there were no options

I calculated revenue and contribution for both menus with 50% of total capacity, as they mentioned in question that customers are split equally between 2 menus
June 9, 2021 at 9:19 pm #624294Yeah I got a weighted Average C/S ratio of 61% aswell for Faros Question C.
Then to get breakeven revenue, I then used Fixed Cost divided by C/S Ratio
There seemed to be alot of parts which could easily be missed with this question. Eg only 85% occupancy during Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Good Luck All.

So you did calculate:
(Menu ?1: Contr from food + Contr from drink
Menu ?2: Contr from food + Contr from drink)
Sum this and divide by sum:
(Menu ?1: Revenue from food + Revenue from drink
Menu ?2: Revenue from food + Revenue from drink)June 9, 2021 at 9:25 pm #624298JohnAcceek wrote:Please can you explain how to calculate c/s ration for food and drink when you also have 2 types of menu? What are the basis for us? Menu or type of meal?

June 9, 2021 at 11:04 pm #624318I took 80 customers in consultancy part as i was keep reading the scenario which mention rather was no change so I took 80 rather than 40.

Yes even i didnt take advertising expenses, in throughput we need to take only factory cost per hour in dinominator i dont think advertising is a part of factory cost and for sales quantity variance i think the answer is 2500k i dont remember exactly first i calculated with actual contribution then i changed my answer by using Budgeted contribution,,, i dont remember what answer i got for each case
June 9, 2021 at 11:41 pm #624322Anyone got decision tree question and the RI/ROI questions for section C?
June 9, 2021 at 11:51 pm #624324Yes and the one about the TPAR for the clock. I didn’t know what to use for the total fixed overhead and machine time. Paper was a disaster for me.
June 9, 2021 at 11:54 pm #624325I got the same questions as you and I wasn’t expecting decision trees in section C so I wasn’t fully prepared.

June 10, 2021 at 3:27 am #624336Section A and B are fairly question, still able to doing well. But section C a bit difficult for me. I got balanced scorecards (charity event) and revised flexed budget. Not really confident with these 2 question.
June 10, 2021 at 3:33 am #624337Use the standard margin to calculate sales mix and yield variances.

Yea I put down 0 as well, I believe this one was to make you waste time and do unnecessary calculations
June 10, 2021 at 5:35 am #624348What are they thinking putting decision tree for section C … That got completely out of fantasy…this is crazy.. having around 70% percent based on previous papers almost sure that I failed this one. For section C it was ok wired quastion for matiriel yield with couldn’t find a right answer, like they put 1200 little input for 1 litter of output with 500 of actual bottle each bottle 360 ml, I got standard input recalculated for 360 ml instead of 1 litter and still don’t get right answer. Had weird quastion about optimal price with variation of prices and quantity….
June 10, 2021 at 5:51 am #624349yeah i got 60.9 something too in that C/S ratio
June 10, 2021 at 5:53 am #624351yeah it was breeakeven revenue as far as i remember. Not gonna lie was worried that i calculated in revenue.
June 10, 2021 at 8:59 am #624388We wrote the same paper eish,…. it was a disaster my side
June 10, 2021 at 12:52 pm #624423I chose Variance too.
marinadal wrote:I did. What is your answer was?
June 10, 2021 at 12:54 pm #624424Exactly. The answer was 0. If I can remember the question was related to the last parts of the question and labour and machine time were the limiting resources. I’m sure if the answer wasn’t 0 they’ll have asked people to put a format when answering as shadow price answers are usually in decimal places.
