    Volunta

    Voluntary
    * Gov who owns 100% of the Company
    * Trade Union
    * Suppliers

    Involuntary
    * The 2 Governments mentioned in 2 paragraphs who claim that the plant was contaminating the water. One of these country was close to the plant and was getting affected due to the water pollution. whereas the other company does not seem to have valid claims as its situated quite far from the plant.
    * the Pressure group (Environmental group) – the Seal species would be affected and their natural environment disrupted. leading to extinction of species.

    pretty sure pressure groups are voluntary.

    is the agent the board and the principal not the entity that is “the company”?? seen’s as a company is a seperate legal entity from the shareholders-who in this case are the goverment???

    I said that the agents were the board and the principal was the government. I also said though that the government were effectively agents of the people of the country, who were principals. Probably wrong.

    I started preparing for this paper the night before! I didn’t have time to attempt any revision kit numbers. During my last min reading, I just read the COSO framework, the CC, a little bit of Turnbull and something small on risk and corporate governance. So with this little preparation, I was quite nervous at the exam hall. But, thank God, I quickly tried to compose myself because confidence is the key in passing! You can have all the knowledge in the world but it may not be of help if your confidence and composure at the exam hall are low!

    In the 15 mins reading time, I was so excited to see Q3 because it a basic knowledge area for the principles and rules-base approach. Next I went to Q1, and when I felt I was running out of time, I left space and went to Q2 and later returned to Q1. Time management is always important.

    Hurrah, I’m done with my exams! Success to all those who are doing P3. I hope we all pass! Enjoy your summer everyone…

    Voluntary and involuntary was not a well studied area as many didn’t expect it will form a big question. I just said voluntary who are taking willing participation in the activities and decision making and involuntary who stays away from the actual operations but still have interst in the entity.

    Studied decision making , behavioral and ethical theories. Expected risk managment and internal control will make high mark questions.

    Overall it was not easy. Hope I can get thru.

    Question paper is out – https://www.accaglobal.com/pubs/students/acca/exams/p1/past_papers/p1/p1_2010_jun_q.pdf

    Are people positive that a decision making model such as AAA was relevant for the last part of 4? I personally didn’t think that the examiner was expecting that at all.

    I felt that the questions are a bit too tough for Section A, can’t figure out what the requirements of the questions, case study was too long and not enough time to finish all the questions. It’s really a disaster.

    i thought question 4 was talking about professional vs employee dilemma… i hope it is.
    but generally the paper was pretty fair it was exactly what was predicted of the examiner.

    Seals according to the examiner’s article could be called Indirect s/o.

    I classified NNN (defendants of the seal)
    as such.

    I cannot believe ACCA have published the answers to the June exams on their website in advance of the results coming out. I felt quite confident I’d passed P1 in June but now I’ve had the opportunity to look at the answers it looks like I’ve failed, thank you ACCA for putting me through another 5 weeks of anguish that I didn’t need….
