I am from Bangladesh and have completed my B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from Dhaka University. I was previously enrolled in a PhD program in AI, but I had to drop out. I am currently 38 years old.
I am planning to start ACCA and currently have the resources to complete only the first 9 papers (Applied Knowledge + Applied Skills). My main concern is about career opportunities at my age.
My questions for the community:
If I complete the first 9 papers, how realistic is it to get an accounting or finance-related job, either in Bangladesh or remotely?
Any advice on how to approach ACCA efficiently at this stage of life?
Would focusing on the first half of the course improve my employability significantly, or should I plan differently?
I would really appreciate insights from current ACCA students, members, or professionals with experience in international job markets.
Have you explored the ACCA Careers portal? https://jobs.accaglobal.com
If you start with a region, you can then browse by location, job role of sector.
Also in the careers portal, you will find lots of advice: https://jobs.accaglobal.com/careers
I started my ACCA quite late and I am almost done. Do not give up 🙂 I found my first finance job already, however I am based in Europe.
