    Hi

in ACCA syllabus part H2 d) we are told that we need to be able to “advise on the relationship of job design to process redesign, project management and e-business”

i know what the terms mean separately, more or less, but I am not very clear as to the relationship bit? apart from that process redesign is one approach to job design ?

what do they want us to know or explain here?

any clarification would be much appreciated

    Thank you

All it means is that if you change a process, then you almost certainly change the jobs. For example, if you outsource, the jobs might move form you to the outsourcer or the job becomes one of liaising with the outsourcer.

Similarly, adopting e-business will change jobs, perhaps instead of being a shop assistant someone has to become a call centre employee.

I assume that what’s meant by the relationship between project management and job design is that as an important step in a project you have to ensure you have the right staff with the right skills before the project goes live.

I’m not sure there’s anything in H2(d) that is much beyond common sense.
