    Hello ,

Here I would like to find out if there a link between F4 & F6 exams. Particularly I am interested in the opinion of those who have already passed both exams or at least F4 and preparing for F6.

The reason why I am asking this question is the confusion that I am facing while choosing the variant for F4. Like many ACCA students I am trying to decide for myself whether to choose a Global or UK variant. I’ve read all the posts that I could find at this forum about this issue and still the question stays open for me. After comparing syllabuses of both exams I tend to choose Global variant, also I found out that both BPP and Kaplan have appropriate learning materials designed specially for Global variant, however if F4 global exam is more complicated, if it contains more confusing questions and if I’ll hardly be able to find anyone to help me with this or that question..then I’m not sure that I should put myself in those difficulties when there is a way to avoid them. Really, I’m confused, guys. I don’t expect that someone will give me a proper answer…but if someone could share his/her experience or suggestions, I would be really grateful.

However, I was at the point of choosing Global variant exam , but then I remembered about F6 taxation and realized that this one can hardly be international, surely there are variants for different countries, including UK one, that I will choose in the future. And that made me hesitate again ..

So now I am asking whether there is a link between those exams. Whether it’s worth taking F4 UK version in order to have less difficulties with F6 UK / or to have a structured knowledge of at least UK practice, rather then random, or exams are completely different and it doesn’t matter which variant of F4 to choose.

Sorry if I posted this question in the wrong section. But I wanted this question to be seen by a wider range of people, not just those who are interested in a particular exam.

    Thank u in advance!

There was an overlap between 2.2/F4 and 2.3/F6 when I did them, they both contained sections on employment and self-employment. I used the rules for both in my law and tax exams which I sat at the same sitting.

I did uk variant for law and tax.

Where are you in the world? If you are in the uk it is unlikely you would find classes for anything other than uk law.
