Would it be wise for me to book and sit the SBL exam this June if I have less than a month to revise?
I sat the SBR exam in March and passed with 55 with 1.5 months of study. This was also my first exam after a 6 year break so I has to brush up on the material.
I’m thinking about sitting SBL in June and have not started revising yet as I thought I would need to re-sit SBR. I also have a 2 week holiday starting from next week which makes things a bit tricky but I feel like the changes from September might make the exam harder.
I took only 3 days off work for SBR (studying at least 5 hours every day when working though) but would probably take off maybe a week for SBL if I decide to sit it.
I am thinking about just giving it a go but I also realize it might be money down the drain and demoralizing – any advise would help!
April 22, 2023 at 3:47 pm #683359I passed SBR with 55 marks in March with only 1 week of study. So, I don’t see any reason why not to sit for june exam.
My advice study and go for it. If you fail, you can sit again and pass.

October 3, 2023 at 6:08 pm #692790Sorry for the delayed reply, I took some time off before I get back into taking exams.
I only used open tuition as a learning provider. I also did ACCA past papers and watched YouTube videos from Hassan Dossani (plus whatever else I could find explaining the models).
My study rough study plan (I had 4 weeks of revision) was as follows:
– I got through the lecture videos on OT as quickly as possible, adding my own notes to the notes provided. This took me about 2 weeks. (I didn’t take any time off work in the 4 weeks so was fitting in revising before work, during lunch and after work on weekdays, and about 8h on weekends).
– for the last 2 weeks I did as many past papers provided on the ACCA online platform as I could. I think I did about 8. I have to mention, most of the time I couldn’t even answer half the paper and finished way earlier as I gave up. But I typed out the given answers (I know they are very long) as much as possible. I feel this put me in good speed of how to answer the questions and helps you understand what gives you marks.
For the last week I also went through all the important models every other day (like porters 5 forces, PESTEL etc.)
In the evenings when I was tired of revising I would watch hassan dossani’s lectures on 2x speed. I feel this way I was at least doing something even when I felt drained and he has some good points.
