Thinking of attempting p7 this December as I just sat p1 in September and wondering how much (if any) in common its syllabus has to p1? I will be going through p7 syllabus today or tomorrow anyway but would like to hear from those who passed them both, especially if you passed or attempted them both fairly recently, e.g. this year.

Any information will be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Pawel

Knowledge of p1 is not gonna help in p7, I’m sorry. The ethical code of objectivity is a major theme in p7, confidentiality is seldom asked and others are just assumed knowledge so won’t be appearing.

This will make p7 a very distant cousin of p1, I believe :p

I appeared for p1 and p7 both in June 2015. Might I say that my P7 knowledge helped me in P1 but nothing of the sort for P7, it’s entirely different

It’s knowledge of (and being able to apply it) from F8 and P2 that will get you through P7. In fact, now that the P papers can be taken in any order, the official line from ACCA is that candidates are advised to have passed P2 before attempting P7.
