    Hi all,
I recently read about OBU degree and I got quite interested. I passed F1-F6 so far so I assume I’m eligible to opt-in.

A question: is it worth and would you recommend it? How long does it take after you pass all ACCA exams?

There is no cost / harm in opting in. Just because you’ve opted in doesn’t mean to say you have to do the OBU degree. It just gives you the option. If you don’t opt in, you can’t do it.

In terms of how long it takes – I think that is obviously going to vary by student. I think I probably spent about 30-40 hours on it – but I chose a topic I know a lot about (something banking related) and I have worked in banking for 12 years. If I chose something I didn’t know much about, it would have probably taken me much longer. Some feedback here is that it can take up to 6months around work / other study etc.

In terms of is it worth it – honestly I don’t know. A lot of the MSc courses I’m looking at (from top 10 Unis in England) will only accept undergrad degrees that have been completed in the standard 3-4 years full time. But there are other routes in and I don’t think that it can hurt your chances at all and there will be some Unis that do accept it as a first degree.

So my advice to you – no need to decide now – just make sure whatever you do, you opt in to give yourself an option later. And I would also suggest keeping books F7-F9-P1-P2-P3 as they come in very helpful if you do decide to do the degree.

Best of luck completing the rest of your ACCA studies.
