Let me clarify; I’ve just passed P1 and am looking to take two exams in June.

Obviously P2 and P3 should be next, but they are on Monday & Tuesday, one right after the other. I definitely want to avoid that situation if possible.

So, could I do P2 & one of for example P4 or P5/6/7?
    Or P3 & one of P4-7?

I’m not in an accounting job at the moment, so I have no idea which Profesional paper options to choose for my future career. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

The P papers are split into two modules – P1 – P3, and P4 – P7. Before you can sit a paper from P4 – P7, you first need to either have completed all papers P1 – P3, or be sitting the outstanding papers at the same time as any papers from the next module.

That means that as you’ve already passed P1, you have P2 and P3 still to do in that module and if you wanted to sit P2 & P4, then the only way you can do it is to register to sit P3 as well at the same sitting.

    So there is no way I can do P1, P4 & P5 first then re-sit for P2 & P3 in the next sitting? =(

I thought you said you’d just passed P1? But anyway, no – before sitting a paper from P4 onwards, you need to either have competed P1 – P3, or be sitting them at the same time as papers from the P4 – P7 range.

Go to MyAcca and try and enter for the exams you’re talking about (it’s ok – you won’t get as far as the payment screen) and you’ll get an error message telling you that you can’t do it.

    Thanks for the reply fidget.

Is it a good idea to do both P2 & P3 together then? How many people have done this, considering they seem to be hard exams plus one day after the other.

Am I better off doing one exam in June and splitting P2 & P3 over two sittings?

Any advice from you guys on the forums would be helpful. Thanks.

It’s up to you really. If you’ve got the time to devote to the two papers then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t go for it.

I’ve got P2 (to resit) and P3 to do as well, but I haven’t got the time to devote to them both at the same time, so will do P2 resit in June, then onto P3 in Dec.

I did P2, P3 and P7 in dec 09 sitting and passed them all first attempt, so it can be done.
