    Hello Tutor,

    I would like to ask,

In the questions where there is no clear model mentioned to use, is it a must to link our answer to certain relevant model or we can structure our answers using relevant heading also?

During my exam condition practice, few times I was not able to link or remember any specific model but gave relevant points required. Will this gain any marks?

    Thanks in advance!!

If you don’t use a model you can still gain marks, but the answer is better if linked to a model (even if the ‘model’ is only a list).

Models are well-established ways of tackling problems and any answer is likely to have more credibility if a model is used. Otherwise the exam just becomes one of common sense and what you happen to dream up on the day.

    Hi Ken

Just to follow up on this, say for example the question asks about stakeholders, and you mention key players, keep satisfied, power and interest etc etc and relate it to the question. However you don’t mention the words mendelows matrix, will you drop marks for this?

    Thanks
    Michael

You won’t lose many, but use the name/title if you can. Don’t fret if you can’t.

Ok, thank you. I know the models, just I can never remember the correct names. Guess that’s something I can work on from now until Thursday.

    Hi

I have the same issue, to remember the name of the models. You say “we won’t lose many” marks, so does it mean we won’t have all marks if we don’t mention the name of the model even if each title/section is well answered?

Also I notice that I don’t use technical words when I’m answering a test, but what I write means the same. Will I still have all the marks even if I don’t say “the” word?

    Thanks

P3 is called ‘Business Analysis’, it is not called ‘Common Sense’. The P3 syllabus contains numerous models/frameworks/theoies that are widely used and which you are expected to know. If neither model names nor proper technical terms are mentioned I don’t know how you will convey to the marker that you have studied the subject properly.
