    Hi

This might sound really daft but every time I try to calculate the IRR range on my calculator, I end up with a silly number nowhere close to the answer.

for instance, I can’t get the 6.02% on my calculator as per the below equation:

    5% + (5.06/5.06+19.77) * 10%-5% = 6.02%

Can anyone please help and tell me where I’m going wrong. I have a Casio Fx-82MS and this seems to be the only number crunching bit (but an important one) which am unable to calculate right. it’s most likely just me not doing it right. I have tried numerous other ways but so far am unable to get the magic number

    Thanks

You have to watch your brackets in your calculator !

    5% + (5.06 / (5.06 + 19.77)) * (10%-5%) = 6.02
