When you want to calculate purchases and you are given the opening payable do we add purchases to opening payable then subtract money paid to suppliers?
I assume that you are really asking about calculating the closing payables.
If so, then yes – you take opening payables, add the purchases, and subtract the cash paid to suppliers.
I do suggest that you watch my free lectures. They are a complete free course for Paper F3 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
