I am unable to figure what Investment Income means? You have used many times verbally during the lecture but I have not found in written form in notes. Does Investment income means taxable income which includes property income, employment income and trading profit from self-employed?
Investment income comes from the money you have invested in say a bank or building society.
You give them – say – £5000 – you invest it with them and they in turn pay you interest – say 2%pa.
The interest you receive is investment income.
It does not include salary as this is earned income.
Soome would say that property income is investment income as you bought a property and it provided a return for you – rental income – but I would not include it under investment income myself.
