Are buffer inventory called as minimum inventory.
If that’s true
Then are all of the below terms having equal meanings ?
Free inventory
Safety inventory
Minimum inventory
Buffer inventory
Buffer and safety inventory are different names for the same thing, as I explain in my free lectures.
The minimum level of inventory is the reorder level less the maximum demand over the lead time.
Free inventory is the amount in inventory plus any delivery expected less whatever has already been promised to customers.
