An airline wants to provide access to a select group of travel agents to real time information held by the airline regarding flights which may have the potential for passenger seat upgrades.
What should be used to achieve this?
Why the correct answer is not intranet or email, and why the correct answer is extranet. Also what is the difference between intranet and extranet. What does access to real time information mean
Access to real time information means that information that is changing (such as here, the number of empty seats available for upgrades which is changing all the time) can be accessed instantly and will give the current information instantly. Emails do not do that because there will always be a time delay is passing the information.
An intranet is like the internet except that only employees of the organisation can access it (and I explain this in my free lectures). An extranet is the same except that other people (such as here the travel agents) can be granted permission to access it.
