sir kindly help me understand the following question taken from Kaplan kit
in relation to the UN Convention on Contracts for the international sale of goods, which of the following statement/s are true?
The buyer must inspect the goods
1. within a reasonable period of time
2. when the goods have arrived at their destination
the correct answer is 2 only while l thought both 1 and 2 are correct in the sense that l had anticipated that the goods should be inspected when they arrive at their destination and the inspection should be done at a reasonable time instead of keeping the goods and check them after a long time
kindly assist
Article 38 (1) says that the buyer “must inspect the goods within as short a period of time as is practicable in the circumstances”
Article 38 (2) says that the goods must be inspected on their arrival at their destination
There are extensions to Article 38 relating to situations where the buyer causes others to inspect and where the buyer redirects the goods whilst they are in transit
But, essentially, it seems to me that the buyer should inspect the goods as soon as practicable AND that inspection should take place at the destination
I would have selected the option that covers BOTH requirements
OK?
