sir i wanted to know if Brand is separable from a business?
For example can i recognise a brand name i acquired from a company that has recently been liquidated? I do not buy the rights to produce similar goods, but just the brand name is what i buy.
Is this situation possible and will lead to recognition of an intangible asset?
Yes – it would give LEGAL RIGHTS – so recognise separately on purchase of a business
