Management information systems (MIS) allow managers to make timely and effective decisions using data in an appropriate form. List three types of MIS and how they would be used in an organisation.
The types of MIS given in the txtbk are database system, enquiry system, control system and support system however in the answer to this question why have they elaborated on TPS, ERPS? Arent they different type of information systems?
No – they are all part of the MIS. The MIS provides information to help managers make decisions and will give the managers information that they need from all the software that is relevant for them (include ERPS etc..).
I do explain this in my free lectures. The lectures are a complete free course for Paper PM and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
