So Sir if the NS was 5000 or less then the Savings @ 0% would be $1,000.00?
No you are mixing up 2 things here – the 0% starting rate band for savings income which is only available if the NS income is less than £5,000 and then the savings income nil rate band which is £1,000 if the taxpayer is a basic rate taxpayer
