Hi Sir John,
I have confusion on the implication of slack and surplus.
1. Why when the slack is low, the resource could become a binding constraints?
2. What is binding constraints?
3. Which one is good, the slack is low, high or average?Thank you.

A binding constraint is a constraint that is limiting the amount they can produce.
If there is slack in a constraint then it is not binding because they are not using all that is available for purchase. If there is no slack then it is a binding constraint because it is stopping them producing more.
None of them are good or bad on their own!!! It is only a problem when there is no slack.
Have you watched my free lectures on linear programming? The lectures are a complete free course for Paper PM and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.

Thanks for the explanation. I have watched your lectures on linear programming but I have to watch again as I missed out some points.
